About

Marika Jaeger
Marika grew up in the wooded hills of Eugene, Oregon. A childhood spent traveling and exploring the outdoors led her to study environmental sustainability and conservation in college and graduate school. Passionate about wildlife and wild ecosystems, her first exhibit was a series of wildlife conservation paintings based on species she observed while conducting field research in the Peruvian Amazon.
A self-taught artist, her artistic style and subject have evolved since then, ranging from wildlife and ecological content to social justice and human-centered works. Marika lives in Manhattan, New York, and works for a climate change non-profit by day.
